Carrie Strine of HandMeDowns made this gorgeous scarf/stole for me. It is her design, Amandine, made in marine Zephyr.
The design has a lovely flow and the edging is perfect. The constuction of the edging is quite different, there are two layers and it gives it a little extra weight and makes it easy to drape. It is the perfect width - it is wider than a scarf but not quite as wide as a stole. But it has all the impact of a stole. I have gotten as many complements on Amandine as I do with Scheherazade. I also love how this design is perfect for spring and summer. It is delicate yet it is very airy. It will be perfect for those air conditioned rooms in July and August. I wear it by wrapping it around my neck and then it just floats on my shoulders and arms. You can purchase the pattern from Carrie's Etsy store or Carrie will make one for you in the Zephyr color of your choice. My responsibilites during the past two months have not allowed for much knitting. Carrie's work quieted the angry knitter voice within me. I so much appreciate Carrie's incredible design, as well as her generousity of her time and talent. More pictures:
And finally
My lack of time for creative pursuits is about to change very shortly.
I really am in the final stretch of Mystery Stole 3. When I finish I am thinking about making Amandine in Art Yarn's Regal Silk.
